I've seen a lot of people talking about giving their baby name at Starbucks to see if the barista can spell or pronounce it. Has anyone actually done this? Does it actually help you narrow things down?
Does the Starbucks Test actually work for testing names?
Sophie is curious if testing baby names at coffee shops is a real thing or just an internet myth. · Updated 4h ago

Yes. With Irish names, this is mandatory. I gave Siobhan for my coffee order in Boston, and the barista wrote Shavon. It was a great reality check for how much my daughter would have to spell her name out.

We did this too. Another trick is to use it when making restaurant reservations over the phone. If you have to spell it out three times, it might be too complicated for daily life.
