Hi everyone! We're looking for a girl name that sounds natural in both French and English. My husband's family is in New York and mine is in Paris. We currently have Margot and Elodie on our list, but Margot feels a bit too trendy lately. Any thoughts on something pretty but classic?

Oh, I totally feel you. Margot is gorgeous, but I agree it is everywhere right now. Have you thought about Sylvie or Celine? Celine is so elegant and Americans have no trouble saying it at all.

I grew up bilingual, and I can tell you that Camille is definitely the most bulletproof name. It never gets mispronounced, though the emphasis changes slightly. We named our daughter Juliette, and it works perfectly in both languages.

I love Juliette. So beautiful. Another one to consider is Clara. It's short, sweet, and travels so well across Europe and the US.
